Late May fundraising: Digital downloads, trades and a sketchbook on eBay.

In order to help fund the summer months, which will include a couple of conventions and work toward some new books, I’m offering a few things for sale through the end of May.

First of all, downloads of the OLD DOG PDF continue:

boxer

This is the stand alone OLD DOG story from BAD KARMA VOLUME ONE, along with the OLD DOG prose piece from the same book, in PDF, CBR and CBZ formats. Thirty pages. Artwork by Christopher Mitten. Cover image by Ben Templesmith. Illustrations by John Lucas and Tigh Walker.

Just send a Paypal payment of at least .99 (99 cents!) to:

Catspaw1@aol.com

And I’ll send you an email link to all three versions of the book.

You’re free to pay more, obviously. But .99 gets you the link. If you’ve already ordered the BAD KARMA hardcover or PDF, the link is free.

On top of that, I’ve got a new batch of trade paperbacks in, and I’m again offering both volumes of HAWAIIAN DICK (Byrd of Paradise and The Last Resort) as well as BATTLE HYMN, each for ten dollars. Same Paypal address as above (Catspaw1@aol.com)

Trades

I also have copies of all six issues of JSA THE LIBERTY FILES: THE WHISTLING SKULL, which I’ll sell in complete autographed sets if you’re interested. Drop me a line for info: BClayMoore@gmail.com

JUST ADDED: THE TIMELY SKETCHBOOK

I’ve also put one of my most prized possessions up on eBay. I genuinely (really, seriously)  hate to part with this, but am working to fund some new directions, and as a result a few things are going:

Chicago, the roaring twenties: JACKSON (JACK) BOXER was a Chicago detective on a special detail that made him no friends. In a city overrun with corruption, working in a police department as likely to take a bribe as serve a warrant, Boxer was given free rein to investigate this corruption on his own terms. Integral in bringing federal cases against both criminals and cops, Boxer’s career in law enforcement effectively ended when his wife and young son were killed in a suspicious apartment fire. No one was ever charged with the murders, but Boxer took his cue, retiring to a quieter life as an insurance claims investigator.

Los Angeles, 1950: Twenty years later, Boxer has been asked to operate off the books in much the same way for the LA police department. To entice him out of retirement, LA Police CAPTAIN HARRY CAVANAUGH, once a Chicago beat cop, is dangling a bit of information he claims to own: the identities of the crooked cops that murdered Jack Boxer’s family.

Despite initial misgivings, Boxer embarks on one last quest, shotgun at his side, and joined eventually by Cassandra Falcon, a women who came to Los Angeles chasing dreams that soured into nightmares. Cavanaugh holds the ace in the deck as Boxer keeps tags on the department’s shadowy Gangster Squad; the gangsters that work behind the scenes to influence power in the city; and the assorted lowlifes and high livers that populate the LA scene.

LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT #2 in November

This is something I’m excited about. The digital first (still available at Comixology, in three 99 cent chapters) Batman story that Ben Templesmith and I did for editor Ben Abernathy is being solicited in September for a November release:

LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT #2
Written by B. CLAY MOORE
Art and cover by BEN TEMPLESMITH
On sale NOVEMBER 7 • 40 pg, FC, $3.99 US • RATED T
• The first time in print for these digital first adventures!
• The Dark Knight battles some of his greatest foes in this oversized adventure!
• The Joker’s put a mind-bendingly nefarious plan into effect for the wealthy of Gotham City…

Ben Templesmith and I have been trying to find the right project to collaborate on for years, and to do it for the amazing Ben Abernathy was a pleasure. It’s an out of continuity, self-contained Batman story, and was extremely well-received. If you own yourself one of them iPads, I recommend you download it from Comixology. But if you want to hold the printed version in your own sweaty paws, tell your local comic shop, and look for it in early November.

And December will see the release of another DC project that’s been in the works just a wee bit longer.
